The BBC Radio 4 weather forecast, just after 6am this morning:

"The rest of the day will be dull, damp and cold".

Bitterly cold, the weatherman said.

It's beginning to feel as if the forecast will never change:

"For the rest of your life, it will be dull, damp and cold".
